Potions are reusable power-ups that heal a specific amount of health points and grant an additional buff, depending on the type of potion consumed. Only one type of potion can be equipped at once. After using a potion, there will be a cooldown time before it can be consumed again.
Potions have three different stats.
- Healing Power, how much health the potion restores when consumed.
- Cooldown Time, how long, in seconds, the player must wait before the potion can be consumed again.
- Bonus Effect, which raises a single stat for a short amount of time. This depends on the potion consumed.
Types of Potions[]
There are four potions available in Postknight: Red, Green, Blue and Crystal. The Red potion is obtained for free during the first phase of the game, while the others have to be purchased from merchants. Upon buying a second potion, an option appears in the menu that allows the player to choose which potion to equip.
Potion | HP | CD | Special Effect | Base EXP | HP Bonus | Effect Bonus | How to obtain | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Red Potion |
+20 | 8s | +5 | Defense | 5 | +6 | +1 | Complete Floret Lane III |
Green Potion |
+60 | 6s | 100% | Movement Speed | 6 | +8 | +2% | Purchase from Merchant Orella at Griffondell for
40000 24 24 6 |
Blue Potion |
+129 | 9.5s | +11 | Ranged Magic Defense | 8 | +9 | +1 | Purchase from Merchant Cyrus at Caldemount for 240000 40 40 20 |
Crystal Potion |
+220 | 8.5s | +11 | Attack | 10 | +20 | +1 | Purchase from Merchant Zena at the Valley of Gold for 900000 50 50 30 |
Note that these values are the "base values" found in the game files, with the property levels at 0. To get the initial values with their levels at 1, simply add 0.5s to the cooldown and the respective bonuses to HP and effect.
Herbs[]
These three properties can be further improved using herbs, alchemy items that can be obtained as drops from enemies, chests or gifts; or from trading with merchants. By infusing enough herbs to a potion, the level of the property affected by the herb will change by a certain amount.
Property upgrades are exclusive to the potion being upgraded; they do not affect the other potions.
Healing Power[]
Area | Herb | Exp |
---|---|---|
Pompon | Ceruleaf | 1.0 |
Shello Bay | Costar | 2.0 |
Griffondell | Argiebii | 3.0 |
Caldemount | Kuroot | 4.0 |
Valley of Gold | Glowbud | 5.0 |
Fractured Forest | Blood Acorn | 6.0 |
EXP = BaseEXP * (1.3 ^ Level), rounded up
By fully filling the bar, the amount of health restored will increase, its value depending on the potion being upgraded. However, this also increases the cooldown time by 1 second, which can prove troublesome if the player cannot fully negate the effect by upgrading the cooldown time.
Cooldown Time[]
Area | Herb | EXP |
---|---|---|
Pompon | Puffwort | 1.5 |
Shello Bay | Angel Wings | 3.0 |
Griffondell | Galesip | 4.5 |
Caldemount | Tuffler Tusk | 6.0 |
Valley of Gold | Grottoshroom | 7.5 |
Fractured Forest | Gooberry | 8.0 |
EXP = BaseEXP * (1.1 ^ Level), rounded up
By fully filling the bar, the cooldown time will decrease by 0.5 seconds. Two upgrades to this stat will cancel one upgrade to healing power, which is easy to do given the low exponential scaling and high EXP gain.
The cooldown time cannot be reduced to be lower than 3 seconds. Once the potion cooldown is upgraded to this value, the "Infuse" button will be grayed out, preventing the player to infuse any herbs and reduce the cooldown further.
Bonus Effect[]
Area | Herb | EXP |
---|---|---|
Pompon | Sage | 1.0 |
Shello Bay | Chuvie | 2.0 |
Griffondell | Danderion | 3.0 |
Caldemount | Firebloom | 4.0 |
Valley of Gold | Moonbud | 5.0 |
Fractured Forest | Golden Basil | 6.0 |
EXP = BaseEXP * (1.2 ^ Level), rounded up
By fully filling the bar, the strength of the bonus effect will increase, its value depending on the potion being upgraded.
